61. My Three Months on X

From Consumer to Creator

Introduction: A Shift from Consumer to Creator

I first joined X (formerly Twitter) in 2009 as a dormant consumer—someone who scrolled, read tweets, and occasionally engaged with posts. But for most of that time, I wasn’t actively contributing. It wasn’t until the last three months that I began using X as a creator, sharing my thoughts and content with purpose.

In these three months, I’ve realized that X can be both an incredibly insightful platform and a source of mental clutter. Every tweet has the potential to either bring clarity or leave you feeling confused and overstimulated. I’ve observed two types of accounts: those that clutter your mind and those that help you declutter.

Two Types of Accounts on X: Clutter vs. Clarity

Many accounts on X focus on projecting success—whether it’s about finances, fitness, or a luxury lifestyle. They often display the appearance of a perfect life: signing high-profile clients, making impressive sums of money, and living a dream lifestyle. However, beneath this polished exterior lies a deeper need for external validation, rather than genuine personal growth. This kind of content creates mental clutter, leaving you feeling jealous, insecure, and constantly comparing yourself to others. It pushes you into a cycle of mindless consumption, making you feel like you need to keep up, but without understanding why.

While this narrative dominates platforms like Instagram, X still offers a space for meaningful dialogue and thoughtful interaction—though the pressure to project success is beginning to creep in here as well.

On the other hand, there are accounts that promote clarity. These creators focus on authenticity, sharing their journeys, struggles, and lessons. They help you reflect on your life, think more clearly, and align your actions with your values. Instead of cluttering your mind, these accounts encourage introspection and offer valuable insights that lead to real personal growth.

The Cluttered Mind: A Hidden Blocker to Personal Branding

One of the biggest challenges in building a personal brand is managing a cluttered mind. Many people rush into personal branding without first addressing the mental noise in their lives—whether it’s emotional baggage, distractions, or the constant need for approval.

There are countless accounts on X that pretend to be authorities—whether in making money, trading stocks, or fitness. Many project an image of success by renting luxury cars or villas, while others showcase peak physical conditioning achieved through steroids. These brands are built on inauthenticity, and although they may capture attention, they lack substance.

Before building a meaningful personal brand, it’s crucial to first clear your mind. When you create from a space of clarity, your content reflects your true values and helps others declutter their minds as well. This is what makes a brand sustainable and valuable—not the surface-level projection of success, but the depth of authenticity behind it.

I Want to Share, Not Preach

As I’ve started creating content, I’ve realized that I don’t want to come from a place of authority. Instead, I want to share my journey from a place of authenticity. I’m not here to act like I have all the answers—I’m here to share what I’m learning and invite my audience to join me in that process.

I believe in having an open dialogue with my audience, learning from them as much as they might learn from me. It’s about sharing real experiences and inviting feedback and discussion along the way. Too many accounts project a sense of authority without having the real knowledge or experience to back it up. But today’s audience is maturing. People are looking for real stories, not fabricated ones.

For me, content creation isn’t about being the expert. It’s about sharing my journey, my questions, and my growth in a way that’s authentic and open to learning.

Our Journey is Holistic: Everything is Connected

Our journey in life isn’t split into isolated segments. Everything is connected. Spirituality, health, finances, and relationships—they all influence each other. You can’t talk about one area of life without acknowledging the others.

For example, focusing on diet and nutrition isn’t just about food—it impacts your mental clarity, emotional stability, and even your spiritual growth. Similarly, talking about finances without addressing how it affects your relationships and emotions leaves out important aspects of how interconnected life really is.

True progress comes when we acknowledge that every aspect of our lives is linked. You can’t improve your career without taking care of your well-being. You can’t build healthy relationships if you ignore the emotional and financial factors that influence them.

That’s why, when I share my journey, I talk about everything—finances, relationships, spirituality, and health. Balance is key. Ignoring one domain makes the whole picture incomplete.

The Beauty of the Internet: Different Paths, Same Principles

One of the most incredible things about the internet is the ability to learn from so many different perspectives. Whether you’re following a surfer, a fisherman, a mechanical engineer, or a bodybuilder, you’ll notice that the wisdom and principles required to achieve something great are often the same. Regardless of the field, the core values that lead to success are discipline, consistency, and the understanding that everything takes time.

The methods may differ, but the process is universal. Just like a seed that takes time to grow into a tree and eventually bear fruit, all great achievements require patience and consistent effort over time. Whether it’s health, career, or relationships, there’s no shortcut to lasting success. The internet allows us to see that the same principles apply across various walks of life, connecting us through shared experiences of growth and perseverance.

At the end of the day, we’re all looking for connection and inspiration that fuels us in our own journey. The beauty of the internet is that it connects us with others who are on similar paths, offering not only insight but also the motivation to keep pushing forward. Whether it’s learning from someone else’s struggles or finding inspiration in their success, these connections remind us that we’re not alone in our pursuit of growth.

Challenge What You See: Raise Questions, Increase Awareness

One of the most valuable things you can do on X is to question what you see, especially when someone presents themselves as an expert. Just because someone tweets something with confidence doesn’t mean you should accept it without thought. If you don’t understand something, raise a question. Don’t be afraid to ask for clarity, dig deeper, and expand your own understanding.

The beauty of curiosity is that it leads to growth. When you challenge the information or ask questions, you begin to increase your awareness. You might learn something new, see things from a different perspective, or realize that what you initially didn’t understand was actually an opportunity to expand your knowledge.

Instead of just consuming content, use it as an opportunity to engage. Ask yourself, “Do I really understand this? Can I question this?” That simple act of inquiry not only helps you gain knowledge but also sharpens your ability to think critically.

Raising questions doesn’t diminish the value of someone’s content—it actually elevates the conversation. It pushes both the creator and the audience to think more clearly, dig deeper, and make better connections. In the end, it’s not about blindly following someone’s expertise but growing through the interaction and exploration of new ideas.

Conclusion: Clear Your Mind while Build Your Brand

While diving into creating content or building a personal brand, start by clearing your mind. Address the internal conflicts—whether they’re unresolved emotions, guilt, or the constant need for external validation—that clutter your thinking. A clear mind is the foundation for a personal brand that reflects your authentic self, not just a curated image for likes or approval.

When your mind is free of distractions and mental noise, the content you create will naturally carry more substance and depth. Your brand will no longer be about chasing success or mimicking trends; instead, it will reflect real value, offering insights and solutions that truly resonate with people. A brand built on clarity, authenticity, and purpose is not only sustainable but also impactful—it helps others declutter their own minds and navigate life with more confidence and direction.

What’s more, content itself becomes the reward. When you’re truly aligned with your purpose, the act of creating feels so fulfilling that you no longer seek external rewards like likes, clients, or money. The process of doing becomes so pleasing that the outcome becomes secondary. In this space, your personal brand isn’t just a means to an end—it becomes an expression of your journey, and the creation itself is where the real joy lies.

So, focus on clarifying your thoughts, aligning your actions with your true values, and sharing from a place of genuine growth. Only then will you create something that goes beyond just a brand—it will become a platform for meaningful connection and real change.
